Starting from October 16, 2023, ApsaraDB for Redis will change the billing method for bandwidth upgrade to pay-as-you-go to provide more high-quality services.
Change details
When you upgrade the bandwidth of a Redis instance, the bandwidth billing method is changed to pay-as-you-go. The additional bandwidth that you purchase is billed on an hourly basis.
The new billing method offers greater flexibility, allowing you to cancel the upgraded bandwidth at any time. Additionally, the overall cost is lower compared to the subscription billing method. For example, assume that an instance in the China (Beijing) region has 1 MB of data transferred per day. The following list describes the bandwidth prices of the instance before and after the upgrade:
Before the upgrade (subscription): USD 0.15 per day
After the upgrade (pay-as-you-go): USD 0.002 per MB-hour × 24 hours = USD 0.048 per day

Impacts and recommendations
Starting October 16, 2023, you can no longer subscribe to bandwidth on a fixed-term basis (annual or monthly). Instead, you can now purchase bandwidth on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Your existing subscription to bandwidth is not affected. You can still renew the bandwidth as per the terms of your subscription. However, if your existing subscription expires or if you unsubscribe from the bandwidth, you cannot subscribe to the bandwidth on a fixed-term basis.
