Causes
The open source PostgreSQL community no longer provides maintenance for PostgreSQL 10 from November 10, 2022. If you continue to use PostgreSQL 10, you may encounter potential risks.
Impacts
New RDS instances: You can no longer purchase RDS instances that run PostgreSQL 10.
Existing RDS instances: Alibaba Cloud no longer updates the kernel version of existing RDS instances that run PostgreSQL 10. The updates include new features, vulnerability fixes, and bug fixes. Alibaba Cloud provides only technical support for the instances.
Suggestions
If you use an RDS instance that runs PostgreSQL 10, we recommend that you upgrade the major engine version of the instance to the latest version to prevent vulnerabilities and bugs that are not fixed in the earlier versions. For more information, see Upgrade the major engine version.
If you want to purchase an ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL instance, we recommend that you select an available PostgreSQL version.
