Quick BI provides collaborative operation permissions on datasets, including the Edit and Use permissions. This topic describes how to grant users the collaborative operation permissions on datasets.
Background information
The organization administrator, permission administrator, workspace administrator, or resource owner can perform the following operations:
indicates that the operation is supported only after the current user type is authorized.
indicates that the current user type does not support the operation and cannot be authorized.

Take note of the following points on the collaborative operation permissions:
Edit permission: A developer to whom the permission administrator grants this permission can create, edit, replace, or delete a dataset.
Use: If a developer is granted the Use permission on a specified dataset, the developer can analyze data based on the dataset.
Entry point
When a switchover is performed at theAfter you Quick BI the console, you can perform collaborative authorization on the specified dataset resources in the workspace.
Grant a user the permissions to edit a specified dataset
Developers in the current workspace can be granted the permissions to edit datasets only when you select Specified Members or All workspace members (only members that have the dataset editing permission) for Editing Permission.
On the Datasets page, find the dataset that you want to manage, click the More icon in the Actions column, and select Collaborative Authorization. In the Collaborative Authorization panel, configure Editing Permission and grant the permissions.
The following figure shows that Specified Developers is selected for Editing Permission and Developer B is granted the Edit permission.
Log on to the Quick BI console as Developer B and access and edit the dataset.
Grant a user the permissions to use a specified dataset
If Private is selected for Editing Permission, a developer can be granted the permissions to use a specified dataset. If a user is granted the Use permission on a specified dataset, the user can create dashboards, workbooks, and ad hoc queries based on the dataset.
On the Datasets page, find the dataset that you want to manage, click the More icon in the Actions column, and select Collaborative Authorization. In the Collaborative Authorization panel, configure Editing Permission and grant the permissions.
The following figure shows that Private is selected for Editing Permission and Developer B is granted the Use permission.
Log on to the Quick BI console as Developer B, access the dataset, and create dashboards, workbooks, or ad hoc queries based on the dataset for data analysis.
Apply for the permissions to use a specified dataset
If you want to use a specified dataset, perform the steps that are shown in the following figure to apply for the Use permission on the dataset.
