PolarDB:Overdue payments

Last Updated:Sep 13, 2024

This topic describes overdue payments of PolarDB-X 2.0.

If an Alibaba Cloud account has overdue payments, all pay-as-you-go PolarDB-X instances that belong to the account become overdue. You can unlock or recreate pay-as-you-go PolarDB-X instances within a specific period of time. Subscription PolarDB-X instances for which automatic renewal is enabled are not affected until the next subscription period starts.

Warning

Alibaba Cloud sends notifications to you before your account becomes overdue. To prevent business interruptions, we recommend that you add funds to your account at your earliest opportunity.

Operation

  • If your Alibaba Cloud account has overdue payments, all pay-as-you-go instances that belong to the account become overdue.

  • If the amount of your overdue payments does not exceed the overdraft threshold of your Alibaba Cloud account, the instances are not locked. During the service suspension protection period, you receive a text message reminder once every day.

    Note

Alibaba Cloud supports suspension protection, which allows you to continue to use a service within a specific quota or period of time when you have an overdue payment on pay-as-you-go resources.

  • If the overdraft threshold is exceeded, Alibaba Cloud suspends your services and stops billing.

  • If your Alibaba Cloud account has overdue payments, you cannot release your instances before you add funds to your Alibaba Cloud account balance.

Add funds to your Alibaba Cloud account in the Billing Management console. All pay-as-you-go instances are immediately unlocked after your account balance is sufficient.

Important

Released data cannot be restored.

If you do not complete your overdue payments 15 days after an instance is locked, the instance is released and moved to the Recycle page in the console. You can create another instance and restore the released instance to the new instance. After an instance is deleted from the Recycle page in the console, the instance is permanently deleted and can no longer be rebuilt or restored.

Note

After a PolarDB-X instance is released, the cross-region backups of the instance are retained.
