This topic describes how to migrate a PolarDB-X 1.0 (formerly called DRDS) instance of the classic network and VPC hybrid type to the destination zone and switch the node network type from classic network to VPC.
Background information
The overall process of instance migration includes the following steps:
Check the version of your PolarDB-X 1.0 instance. If your instance is earlier than 5.2.8, it is automatically upgraded to the latest version of 5.2.8 during the migration.
Switch the network type of the PolarDB-X 1.0 instance: You must switch the network type of the ApsaraDB RDS instance attached from classic network to VPC. After switching the network type, you must also fix the database shard connections. For more information, see Change the network type of an ApsaraDB RDS instance and Fix database shard connections.
Migrate PolarDB-X 1.0 nodes to VPC: You must migrate all nodes of the instance from the classic network to the VPC. For more information, see Procedure.
NoteDuring the migration, a transient connection may occur for a few minutes. Make sure that your application has the reconnection mechanism.
Procedure
Log on to the PolarDB-X 1.0 console.
In the top navigation bar, select the region where the instance is deployed.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
Find the instance and click the instance ID to go to the Basic Information page.
In the Common Actions section, click Migrate Nodes to VPC.
Set Switch Zone and Switch vSwitch and click OK.
NoteYou cannot execute DDL and DCL statements on databases during instance migration.
