You can use the pay-as-you-go or subscription billing method for compute nodes in a Standard Edition cluster. The prices vary based on the billing method and specifications. This topic describes the billing rules for compute nodes in pay-as-you-go and subscription clusters.
You can specify General-purpose or Dedicated specification types for Standard Edition compute nodes.
General-purpose: Idle computing resources such as CPUs are shared among clusters on the same server for cost-effectiveness.
Dedicated: Computing resources such as CPUs that are allocated to each cluster are exclusive to the cluster. This improves the stability and reliability.
Note If you enable the hot standby storage cluster feature when you purchase a cluster, a compute node is added in the secondary zone or data center in which the hot standby storage cluster is deployed. By default, the specifications of the compute node are the same as the specifications of the primary node in the primary zone or the primary data center. You are separately charged for the compute node.
Pay-as-you-go
If you use the pay-as-you-go billing method for a cluster, you do not need to pay upfront fees when you create the cluster. You are charged for the computing and storage resources that you use. You are charged for the compute nodes in a cluster per hour. The fees are deducted from your account balance on an hourly basis.
