Term | Description |
insight provider | A user-defined network monitoring component. An insight provider is used to monitor the network health status of specified objects and provides capabilities including network quality assessment, network observability, and automatic alerting. You can specify multiple resources in a region as the monitored objects of an insight provider and manage insight providers based on the types of monitored business resources. |
monitored resource type | The types of resources that can be monitored by an insight provider. You can specify virtual private clouds (VPCs) as the monitored objects of an insight provider. Then, the insight provider monitors and analyzes network status in the specified VPCs in real time based on the collected Internet-facing traffic metrics of the VPCs. |
Internet quality event | Insight providers generate exception alerts on the Internet quality of links between clients and Internet service provider (ISP) networks by analyzing Internet-facing traffic metrics in real time. Insight providers generate Internet performance degradation events or Internet availability degradation events if they detect that Internet latency increases or network connectivity declines. |
Internet quality score | Insight providers evaluate Internet quality based on Internet performance and availability. Insight providers analyze Internet traffic metrics in real time and evaluate the metrics based on the model for predicting traffic health status powered by the artificial intelligence for IT operations (AIOps) algorithm. If the metrics are beyond the health range evaluated by the model, the insight providers estimate the proportion of abnormal traffic on the Internet and deduct the proportion. The proportion is the Internet performance score and the deduction result is the Internet availability score. |
proportion of affected traffic in client networks | When an insight provider detects an exception on the Internet quality of a link between a client and an ISP network, the insight provider estimates the proportion of affected traffic on the link and analyzes the impact on the link based on the proportion. |
proportion of affected traffic for an insight provider | When an insight provider detects an exception on the Internet quality of a link between a client and an ISP network, the insight provider estimates the proportion of affected traffic for the insight provider and analyzes the impact on the insight provider based on the proportion. |
health status on the last day | The Health Status of Last Day column displays the time range during which events related to Internet quality degradation occur on the last day. In the insight provider list, you can quickly learn about the Internet running status of each component in the Health Status of Last Day column. |
round-trip time (RTT) | Round-trip time (RTT) is the duration from when a client sends a request to when it receives a response. The weight of a client varies based on the amount of data transfer of the client. |
autonomous system number (ASN) | Each autonomous system is assigned an ASN. Autonomous systems manage assigned CIDR blocks and decide how to forward packets from one network to another network. On the Internet, ISPs and network service providers use ASNs to establish and maintain routing relationships to achieve interconnection and data transmission between networks. ASNs are also used to identify ISPs, network service providers, and other network entities. |
