    To improve user experience, DynamoDB-compatible ApsaraDB for MongoDB sharded cluster instances that run MongoDB 4.0 can no longer be purchased as of April 5, 2024. If you want to use ApsaraDB for MongoDB sharded cluster instances, you can purchase MongoDB-compatible sharded cluster instances.

    Impacts

    • You cannot purchase DynamoDB-compatible sharded cluster instances that run MongoDB 4.0 on the ApsaraDB for MongoDB buy page.

    • You cannot purchase DynamoDB-compatible sharded cluster instances that run MongoDB 4.0 by cloning source instances.

    • You cannot perform operations on DynamoDB-compatible sharded cluster instances that run MongoDB 4.0, such as the conversion of the billing method and cross-zone migration.

    • Alibaba Cloud will no longer provide subsequent kernel updates and new features for DynamoDB-compatible sharded cluster instances that run MongoDB 4.0.

    Alibaba Cloud continues to provide technical support for existing DynamoDB-compatible sharded cluster instances that run MongoDB 4.0.

    Suggestions

    • If you use a DynamoDB-compatible sharded cluster instance that runs MongoDB 4.0, we recommend that you migrate data from the instance to a MongoDB-compatible sharded cluster instance that runs MongoDB 4.0.

    • If you want to use a sharded cluster instance, you can select the MongoDB protocol when you purchase an ApsaraDB for MongoDB sharded cluster instance. For more information, see Create a sharded cluster instance.
