ApsaraDB for MongoDB:[Notice] Adjustment of the method used to collect monitoring information about the IOPS usage of ApsaraDB for MongoDB instances

Last Updated:Oct 25, 2023

To improve user experience, ApsaraDB for MongoDB adjusted the method that is used to collect monitoring information about the IOPS usage of instances that use enhanced SSDs (ESSDs) on October 19, 2023. During the adjustment period, the monitoring curves of the instances may fluctuate. This does not affect the services provided by the instances.

Adjustment date

October 19, 2023

Applicable scope

ApsaraDB for MongoDB instances that use ESSDs to store data.

Content

The IOPS performance of an ApsaraDB for MongoDB instance that uses ESSDs is limited by the specifications of the instance, the storage capacity of the instance, and the specifications of the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance associated with the instance.

On October 19, 2023, ApsaraDB for MongoDB optimized the method that is used to collect monitoring information about the IOPS usage of instances that use ESSDs. ApsaraDB for MongoDB imposes a limit on the storage capacity of the instances and the specifications of ECS instances associated with the instances. This helps you obtain information about the IOPS usage of your MongoDB instance more accurately, detect issues at the earliest opportunity, and quickly troubleshoot the issues.

For more information about the limits on the IOPS usage of an MongoDB instance, see Instance types.

Impacts

In monitoring information about MongoDB instances provided by the basic monitoring feature, CloudMonitor, or the CloudDBA module, the monitoring curves of the IOPS usage of the instances may fluctuate. This does not affect the services provided by the instances. If a specified alert threshold is exceeded, an alert notification is sent.
