When you add a domain name to ApsaraVideo Live for the first time, ApsaraVideo Live verifies the ownership of the domain name. This topic describes how to verify the ownership of a domain name by using a DNS record or a verification file.
Background information
After you pass the verification, ApsaraVideo Live identifies you as the owner of the domain name. The second time you add the domain name to ApsaraVideo Live or if you add a subdomain name of the domain name to ApsaraVideo Live, ownership verification is not required.
You can use a DNS record or upload a verification file to prove the ownership. In the following examples, example.com
is used to show you how to verify the ownership of a domain name.
Method 1: Use a DNS record (recommended)
When you add a domain name to ApsaraVideo Live, you can add a DNS record to prove that you own the domain name.
Obtain the record type, hostname, and record value.
Log on to the ApsaraVideo Live console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Domain Names. On the page that appears, click Add Domain. When you add a domain name to ApsaraVideo Live for the first time, add a TXT record as prompted. Record the record type, hostname, and record value, which are needed in subsequent steps.
Add a DNS record.
NoteDomain verification and TXT records can only be configured on the root domain.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud DNS console.
In this example, Alibaba Cloud DNS is used to add a DNS record. You can add a DNS record through other service providers such as DNSPod and Xinnet in a similar way.
On the Domain Name Resolution page, find the domain name
example.com
and click DNS Settings in the Actions column.Click Add DNS Record. Enter the record type, hostname, and record value that you obtained in Step 1.
Verify the ownership of your domain name.
Return to the ApsaraVideo Live console. Click Verify.
Method 2: Upload a verification file
When you add a domain name to ApsaraVideo Live, you can upload a verification file to prove that you own the domain name.
Log on to the ApsaraVideo Live console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Domain Names. On the page that appears, click Add Domain to add a domain name. When you are prompted to verify the ownership of the domain name, click the Method 2: Verification File tab.
Download the
verification.html
file.Upload the verification file to the root directory of your origin server. The origin server can be an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance, an Object Storage Service (OSS) bucket, a Cloud Virtual Machine (CVM) instance, a Container-Optimized OS (COS) instance, or an Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instance.
Make sure that the verification file is accessible. Alibaba Cloud CDN will access the origin server at
http://example.com/verification.html
to obtain the verification file and determine whether you have uploaded the verification file as required.Click Verify.
