You can disable a device to prohibit it from being connected to IoT Platform. You can also enable a device to allow it to connect to IoT Platform. This topic describes how to disable and enable a device.
Disable a device
Notice The information of disabled devices is retained in IoT Platform. However, you cannot
perform operations on disabled devices. Proceed with caution.
To disable a device in the IoT Platform console, perform the following steps.
Notice Before you disable a device in the IoT Platform console, the corresponding actual
device must be offline. Otherwise, after the device is disabled in IoT Platform, the
actual device still continuously initiates connection requests to IoT Platform. If
the number of requests exceeds the upper limit, IoT Platform starts request throttling,
which affects the access of other devices under your account.
- On the Overview page, find the instance and click the instance name to go to the Instance Details page. Notice Enterprise Edition instances are available only in the China (shanghai) and Japan (Tokyo) region. If your IoT Platform is not activated in the China (shanghai) or Japan (Tokyo) region, skip this step.
Enable a device
After you disable a device, you can enable it again.
To enable a device in the IoT Platform console, perform the following steps.
- On the Overview page, find the instance and click the instance name to go to the Instance Details page. Notice Enterprise Edition instances are available only in the China (shanghai) and Japan (Tokyo) region. If your IoT Platform is not activated in the China (shanghai) or Japan (Tokyo) region, skip this step.
