Alibaba Cloud's IoT Platform DataService Studio manages data metrics, offering both preset and custom metrics for data visualization and analysis, thereby extracting value, optimizing configurations, and enhancing business efficiency.
The IoT Platform DataService Studio's data metric feature displays preset and stored backup metrics for products and devices. On the DataService Studio> Data Metrics page in the IoT Platform console, you can view and manage your data metrics across preset and custom dimensions.
Preset metrics
What are preset metrics
Preset metrics in the IoT Platform DataService Studio are default dimensions that describe device conditions. A preset metrics table is a collection of such metrics, with each field representing a specific metric. This table provides a macro-level view of device operations.
A preset metrics table is automatically generated after device data backup. The DataService Studio includes the following preset metrics tables:
Type | Preset Metrics Table Name |
Device statistics |
|
Working status statistics |
|
Event statistics | Daily Number of Events Reported by Devices in a Time Period |
For example, the preset metrics table Number Of Devices includes metrics such as Date, Number Of Devices Created, Day-on-day Growth Of Devices Created (%), Number Of Devices Activated, Day-on-day Growth Of Devices Activated (%), Number Of Online Devices, Day-on-day Growth Of Online Devices (%), Number Of Active Devices, Day-on-day Growth Of Active Devices (%), Device Activation Rate (%), Device Online Rate (%), and Device Active Rate (%). This table helps you understand the operational trends of devices over time.
Viewing and using preset metrics tables
To manage preset metrics tables, you can view the preset metrics within each table. By default, these tables do not collect metric data, which must be enabled manually.
Custom metrics
Metric data management
Metric data serves as the foundation for data report analysis. After enabling product data backup, you must compile metric data statistics to conduct data analysis.
Follow these steps to generate metric data:
Import original defined metrics
Add atomic terms
Add metrics
Refresh metrics
Domain management
The IoT Platform DataService Studio automatically provides two metric domains: products and devices, to facilitate analysis from different perspectives, with devices being subdomains of products.
In this structure, devices function as subdomains within their respective products.
Application of data metrics
Data metrics can be integrated with the Data API feature.
