Last Updated:Jun 17, 2024

This topic describes the billing rules and pricing of storage resources, including cloud disks, Edge Object Storage (EOS), and NAS.

Billing of cloud disks

After you create a cloud disk, you are charged based on the capacity of the cloud disk.

Billing methods of cloud disks

The billing methods of cloud disks vary based on how the disks are created.

  • Cloud disks that are created and attached when you create ENS instances: The billing method and lifecycle of the cloud disks are the same as those of the ENS instances. Subscription and pay-as-you-go are supported.

  • Separately created cloud disks: Only pay-as-you-go is supported.

Subscription

Subscription cloud disks are pre-paid together with subscription ENS instances. Fees for a cloud disk = Cloud disk capacity × Monthly unit price of the cloud disk × Subscription duration.

Yearly price = Monthly price × 12 × 0.85.

Pay-by-daily-peak

Item

Description

Billing rule

You are charged based on the daily peak capacity of the cloud disk. The capacity of the cloud disk is calculated every 5 minutes. The maximum value among the 288 results in a day is used for billing.

Billing method

Pay-as-you-go.

Billing cycle

You are charged on a daily basis. The bills of a day are generated and the amount due is deducted after 00:00 on the following day. The time when bills are generated is determined by the system.

Calculation method

  • You are charged the sum of the fees for all cloud disks configured on the current day.

  • Daily fee for a cloud disk = Peak capacity of the cloud disk on the day × Daily unit price of the cloud disk

Pay-by-monthly-peak

Item

Description

Billing rule

You are charged based on the monthly peak capacity of the cloud disk. ENS calculates the capacity of the cloud disk every 5 minutes, and uses the maximum value among the 288 results in a day as the daily peak value of memory usage. At the end of a month, the maximum value among the daily peak values is used for billing.

Billing method

Pay-as-you-go

Billing cycle

You are charged on a monthly basis. A bill is generated on the first day of the next calendar month after the end of a billing cycle. The time when bills are generated is determined by the system.

Calculation method

  • You are charged the sum of the fees for all cloud disks configured in the current month.

  • Monthly fee for a cloud disk = Peak capacity of the cloud disk in the month × Monthly unit price of the cloud disk × Effective factor.

Note
  • Effective factor = Effective days/Total number of days in the current month. For example, the total number of days in June 2024 is 30. If a bill for June 2024 covers 26 valid days, the effective factor is 26/30 = 0.86666667.

  • Effective days: the number of days from the day when a cloud disk is created to the day when the cloud disk is released or to the end of the month if the cloud disk is not released in the month.

    • Example 1: If a cloud disk is created on June 5, 2024 and is released on June 25, 2024, the number of effective days in June 2024 is 21.

    • Example 2: If a cloud disk is created on June 5, 2024 and is used till the end of the month, the number of effective days in June 2024 is 26.

Billing of EOS

EOS uses the pay-as-you-go billing method. You are charged for the actual usage of each billable item. For more information, see What is EOS?
