This topic describes how to manage data items and enter the raw data of various data items.
Log on to the Energy Expert console and choose Carbon > Carbon Accounting in the left-side navigation pane. On the Corporate Carbon Accounting page, click Data Management in the upper-right corner. You can also choose Carbon > Data Management in the left-side navigation pane. On the Data Item Management tab of the Data Management panel or page, you can configure data items, enter raw data, and upload data proof.
Configure data items
Click the Data Item Configuration icon in the upper-right corner of the Data Item Management tab. In the Data Item Configuration dialog box, create, modify, or delete data items.
You must configure the following parameters for each data item:
Data item name: Customize a name for the data item.
Data Filling Method: Select Monthly Value or Annual Value.
Data acquisition mode: Select Manual Entry or API entry.
Data unit: Select a unit for the data item.
Manually enter data
The manual entry mode allows you to enter data online or import a large amount of data.
1. Enter data online
On the Data Item Management tab, you can manually enter data. If you select Monthly Value as Data Filling Method for a data item, you must enter the data of each month. The data of 12 months is automatically summed up to generate the total annual value. If you select Annual Value as Data Filling Method for a data item, you need to enter only the annual value, which is averaged to 12 months by default. After you configure the parameters, click the Save icon in the upper-right corner. You can select the year whose data you want to manage in the upper part of the Data Management panel or page.
2. Import a large amount of data
If you want to import a large amount of data, you can use the batch import feature to upload the data at a time. You must enter required data in the data template first. To import a large amount of data, perform the following steps:
(1) Click the Batch Import icon in the upper-right corner of the Data Management panel or page.
(2) Download the data template in Excel. To facilitate file parsing, the template must be downloaded from Energy Expert.
(3) Enter the raw data for each data item in the Excel template. If the Data Filling Method is by month, enter the data for each month. If the Data Filling Method is by year, enter the data in the Year total column.
(4) Upload the data template to Energy Expert.
(5) Click Confirm. After the template is uploaded, click the Save icon in the upper-right corner.
Enter data by API calls
The API entry mode is mainly used to import online data, such as online meter and system data. This mode allows you to update data in real time on a regular basis, reduces your workload, and improves the timeliness and accuracy of data acquisition. When you configure a data item, select API entry as Data Acquisition Mode and configure the API data identification parameter to identify and bind the raw data.
Upload data files
You can upload data files for each data item, such as electricity bills, water bills, and material purchase lists. Find the data item that you want to manage and click the + icon in the Upload Proof column. In the Upload attachment dialog box, select a month and upload data files for that month.
You can also upload other data files that are not specific to a data item. Click Upload Other Proof in the lower part of the Data Item Management tab and select the files to be uploaded.
