Resource groups for scheduling are used to schedule and run tasks. The first time you activate E-MapReduce (EMR) Workflow, a default resource group for scheduling is provided for free. If the default resource group for scheduling cannot meet your requirements, you can purchase a resource group for scheduling. EMR Workflow is available for commercial use from January 10, 2024. You can purchase resource groups for scheduling based on your business requirements.
Billing method
Resource groups for scheduling are billed based on the pay-as-you-go billing method.

Fees of a resource group for scheduling = Unit price of resources × Resource quantity × Billing duration

The first time you activate EMR Workflow, a default resource group for scheduling is provided for free. The default resource group for scheduling can be used permanently free of charge.

If you turn on Submit on Yarn when you configure workflow tasks, all workflow tasks are submitted to the core nodes or task nodes of your EMR cluster for running.
If you do not turn on Submit on Yarn when you configure workflow tasks, all workflow tasks are submitted to a resource group for scheduling for running.
Paid resource groups for scheduling
If the default resource group for scheduling does not meet your requirements, you can purchase a resource group for scheduling. The following table describes the specifications of paid resource groups for scheduling.
