You can adjust the maximum bandwidth of an elastic IP address (EIP) to handle traffic fluctuation. This topic describes how to modify the configuration of a subscription EIP.
Modify the maximum bandwidth of a subscription EIP
You can adjust the maximum bandwidth of a subscription EIP.
Before you perform this operation, take note of the following limits.

You can only increase the maximum bandwidth value of a subscription EIP. Note To downgrade a subscription EIP, use the following methods:

- Log on to the Elastic IP Address console .
- In the top navigation bar, select the region where the EIP is created.
On the Elastic IP Addresses page, find the EIP that you want to manage and choose in the Actions column.
On the Elastic IP (Subscription) - International Site | Upgrade/Downgrade page, specify a new maximum bandwidth, select the terms of service, click Buy Now, and then complete the payment.
Modify the configuration of an EIP when you renew the subscription of the EIP
You can modify the maximum bandwidth of a subscription EIP when you renew the EIP.
Before you perform this operation, take note of the following limits.

If you have unpaid orders for the EIP, you must pay for the orders or cancel the orders before you can modify the configuration of the EIP. | You can modify the maximum bandwidth of a subscription EIP when renewing the subscription of the EIP. The modification takes effect in the next renewal period. | After you modify the configuration of a subscription EIP and submit the order, you need to pay for the order based on the new maximum bandwidth and renewal period. | If a subscription EIP is about to expire and the maximum bandwidth of the EIP does not meet your business requirements, you can modify the maximum bandwidth of the EIP when you renew the EIP. |
- Log on to the Elastic IP Address console .
- In the top navigation bar, select the region where the EIP is created.
On the Elastic IP Addresses page, find the EIP that you want to manage and choose in the Actions column.
On the Elastic IP (Subscription) - International Site | Renew and Change Specification page, set the Duration and Bandwidth parameters, select the terms of service, click Buy Now, and then complete the payment.
Cancel a pending renewal order

You can cancel only a pending renewal order. Renewal orders that are in effect cannot be cancelled. Important After you cancel a pending renewal order, you cannot revoke the cancellation. Proceed with caution. | Immediately | You will be refunded after you cancel a pending renewal order. - Log on to the Elastic IP Address console .

On the Elastic IP Addresses page, find the EIP for which you want to cancel an order and choose in the Actions column.
