Internet Shared Bandwidth instances support bandwidth sharing and transferring on a regional scale. After you purchase an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, you can associate pay-as-you-go elastic IP addresses (EIPs) with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. This way, the EIPs share the bandwidth of the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. This reduces Internet bandwidth costs.
Associate EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance
Before you associate EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, make sure that the following requirements are met:
An Internet Shared Bandwidth instance is purchased. For more information, see What is an Internet Shared Bandwidth? and Create an Internet Shared Bandwidth.
The EIPs are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
The EIPs and the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance belong to the same region and have the same line type.
After you associate EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance:
Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances, Server Load Balancer (SLB) instances, and NAT gateways that are associated with the EIPs share the bandwidth of the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
The previous maximum bandwidth of each EIP is invalid. The maximum bandwidth of each EIP equals the maximum bandwidth of the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
The previous billing method of each EIP becomes invalid. You are not charged an additional data transfer fee for each EIP.
You are charged a configuration fee for an EIP, regardless of whether the EIP is associated with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. For more information about EIP configuration fees, see Billing overview.
You can associate at most 100 EIPs with each Internet Shared Bandwidth. To associate more EIPs, request a quota increase. For more information, see Manage Internet Shared Bandwidth quotas.
- Log on to the Elastic IP Address console .
In the top navigation bar, select the region where the EIP is created.
On the Elastic IP Addresses page, find the EIP that you want to manage and choose in the Actions column.
In the dialog box that appears, select an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance and click OK.
Disassociate an EIP from an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance
You can disassociate an EIP from an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. After you disassociate the EIP, the maximum bandwidth and the billing method of the EIP are restored to the settings before the EIP is associated with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
- Log on to the Elastic IP Address console .
In the top navigation bar, select the region where the EIP is created.
On the Elastic IP Addresses page, find the EIP that you want to disassociate and choose in the Actions column.
In the message that appears, click OK.
FAQ
How do I associate an EIP that is associated with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance with another Internet Shared Bandwidth instance?
You can first disassociate the EIP from the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, and then associate the EIP with another Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. For more information, see Disassociate an EIP from an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance and Associate EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
What is the impact if I associate an EIP that is associated with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance with another Internet Shared Bandwidth instance?
After the EIP is disassociated from the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, the maximum bandwidth and the billing method of the EIP are restored to the settings before the EIP is associated with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
Internet fees of the EIP may change with the new maximum bandwidth and new billing method after the EIP is associated with another Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
