Associate an EIP with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance
Before you associate EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, make sure that the following requirements are met:
After you associate EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, you can perform the following operations:
Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances, Server Load Balancer (SLB) instances, and NAT gateways that are associated with the EIPs share the bandwidth of the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
The previous maximum bandwidth of each EIP becomes invalid. The maximum bandwidth of each EIP equals the maximum bandwidth of the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
The previous billing methods of each EIP become invalid. You are no longer charged data transfer fees for the EIPs.
The billing rules for the configuration fee (public IP retention fee) of the EIPs remain unchanged, regardless of whether the EIPs are associated with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. For more information about the configuration fee (public IP retention fee), see Billing overview.
Note
You can associate at most 100 EIPs with each Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. To associate more EIPs with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, request a quota increase. For more information, see Manage Internet Shared Bandwidth quotas.
- Log on to the Elastic IP Address console .
In the top navigation bar, select the region where the EIP is created.
On the Elastic IP Addresses page, find the EIP that you want to manage and choose in the Actions column.
In the dialog box that appears, select an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance and click OK.
Disassociate EIP from an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance
You can disassociate an EIP from an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. After you disassociate the EIP from the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, the maximum bandwidth and the billing method of the EIP are restored to the settings before the EIP is associated with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
- Log on to the Elastic IP Address console .
In the top navigation bar, select the region where the EIP is created.
On the Elastic IP Addresses page, find the EIP that you want to manage and choose in the Actions column.
In the message that appears, click OK.
FAQ
How do I associate an EIP that is associated with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance with another Internet Shared Bandwidth?
You can first disassociate the EIP from the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, and then associate the EIP with another Internet Shared Bandwidth instance. For more information, see the Disassociate EIP from an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance and Associate an EIP with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance sections of this topic.
What is the impact if I associate an EIP that is associated with an Internet Shared Bandwidth instance with another Internet Shared Bandwidth instance?
After the EIP is disassociated from the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance, the maximum bandwidth and the billing method of the EIP are restored to the settings before the EIP is associated with the Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
Internet fees of the EIP may change with the new maximum bandwidth and new billing method after the EIP is associated with another Internet Shared Bandwidth instance.
