Edge Security Acceleration:TCP/UDP proxy

Last Updated:Dec 09, 2024

The TCP/UDP proxy feature provided by Edge Security Acceleration (ESA) is an acceleration service designed to improve both the performance and security of applications. This service targets applications that operate over the TCP and UDP protocols, which are commonly used in online gaming, instant messaging, and other real-time communications scenarios. The TCP/UDP proxy feature offers global acceleration and comprehensive DDoS protection. It allows for the settings of all ports from 1 to 65535 and supports capabilities such as SSL/TLS-free deployment, simplifying the setup process for users.

Description

Settings

If your application establishes connections with the origin server over Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) or User Datagram Protocol (UDP), you can enable the TCP/UDP proxy feature to improve application performance and security. The most common TCP or UDP-based scenarios include real-time combat gaming and real-time interactive audio and video streaming.

Analytics

ESA supports multidimensional TCP/UDP proxy log analytics and provides visualized display of analytics results. For example, you can use TCP/UDP proxy analytics to obtain insights into trends over time, distribution by country/region, and top rankings based on metrics such as traffic, number of connections, and connection durations.
