Symptoms

If my origin server is located outside the Chinese mainland, how am I billed for using Dynamic Route for CDN (DCDN) nodes in the Chinese mainland?

Causes

If your origin server is located outside the Chinese mainland and you use DCDN nodes in the Chinese mainland to accelerate content delivery, you are billed based on the pricing details for the Chinese mainland. For example, your origin server may be located in Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), or Taiwan (China).

The reason why you are billed in this way is that you are billed only for the outbound traffic of DCDN nodes. If your origin server is located outside the Chinese mainland and you use DCDN nodes in the Chinese mainland, the optimizations offered by DCDN are compromised. This is because latencies may occur for back-to-origin requests. If your origin server and end users are both located in regions outside the Chinese mainland, we recommend that you use the DCDN nodes in regions outside the Chinese mainland.
