After the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) image is imported to Elastic Compute Service (ECS), you can use the image to create ECS instances. This topic describes how to use the RHEL image to create an instance in the ECS console.
Procedure
If you use a custom image to create ECS instances, you are charged for resources that you use, such as vCPUs, memory, storage, public bandwidth, and snapshots. For more information about billing, see Billing overview and Images.
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs.
On the Images page, click the Custom Images tab.
Find a custom image that you imported and click Create Instance in the Actions column.
The region and image are automatically specified. Configure other parameters, such as Billing Method, Instance Type, and System Disk, based on your business requirements.
For more information, see Create an instance by using the wizard.
Result
After the preceding operations are performed, go to the Instances page to view the status of the instance. If the instance is created, Running is displayed in the Status column that corresponds to the instance.
What to do next
You can use Workbench, Virtual Network Console (VNC), or a third-party client to connect to the instance. For more information, see Connection method overview.
If you create data disks along with the instance, you must initialize the data disks before you can use the disks. For more information, see Initialize a data disk whose size does not exceed 2 TiB on a Linux instance or Initialize a data disk that is larger than 2 TiB in size.
