Last Updated:Dec 16, 2024

You can modify the settings and tags of an automatic snapshot policy and enable or disable Delete Automatic Snapshots While Releasing Disk for the disks that are associated with the automatic snapshot policy.

Modify the settings of an automatic snapshot policy

You can modify the settings of an automatic snapshot policy based on your business requirements, including the policy name, times of the day at which to create automatic snapshots, days of the week on which to create automatic snapshots, retention period of automatic snapshots, and cross-region snapshot replication settings.

  1. Log on to the ECS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Storage & Snapshots > Snapshots.

  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs. 地域

  4. On the Snapshots page, click the Automatic Snapshot Policies tab.

  5. On the Automatic Snapshot Policies tab, find the automatic snapshot policy that you want to modify and click Modify Automatic Snapshot Policy in the Actions column.

  6. On the Modify Automatic Snapshot Policy page, modify the settings of the policy.

For information about the parameters on the page, see Create an automatic snapshot policy.

  7. Click OK.

Modify the tags of an automatic snapshot policy

Tags can be used to identify resources with the same characteristics (such as automatic snapshot policies that belong to the same organization or that serve the same purpose) for easy search and management. This section describes how to modify the tags of an automatic snapshot policy.

  1. Log on to the ECS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Storage & Snapshots > Snapshots.

  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs. 地域

  4. Click the Automatic Snapshot Policies tab, find the automatic snapshot policy that you want to manage and modify tags for the policy.

    • If no tags are added to the policy, move the pointer over the 标签 icon in the Tag column corresponding to the policy and then click Edit.

    • If tags are added to the policy, move the pointer over the 标签 icon in the Tag column corresponding to the policy and then click Edit.

  5. In the dialog box that appears, select or create tags and then click OK.

Enable or disable Delete Automatic Snapshots While Releasing Disk

By default, automatic snapshots of disks are not deleted when the disks are released. You can enable Delete Automatic Snapshots While Releasing Disk for a disk, so that the automatic snapshots of the disk are automatically deleted when you manually release the disk, release the disk along with the instance, or replace the operating system.

  1. Log on to the ECS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Storage & Snapshots > Block Storage.

  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs. 地域

  4. Find the disk that you want to manage. In the Actions column, choose 更多 > Modify Attributes.

  5. In the Modify Disk Properties dialog box, select or clear Delete Automatic Snapshots While Releasing Disk.

    Note

If you select Delete Automatic Snapshots While Releasing Disk, the automatic snapshots will be deleted according to the earlier of the two times: the disk release time or the automatic snapshot retention time.

After you clear Delete Automatic Snapshots While Releasing Disk for a disk, the automatic snapshots of the disk are retained based on the automatic snapshot policy that is associated with the disk. You can modify the retention period of automatic snapshots in the policy based on your business requirements. For more information, see the Modify the settings of an automatic snapshot policy section in this topic.

  6. Click Confirm.
