You can enable auto-renewal for a subscription dedicated host to prevent it from being accidentally released. This way, the system automatically renews the dedicated host at the specified time. You can also disable auto-renewal later if necessary. This topic describes how to enable and disable auto-renewal for a subscription dedicated host.
Prerequisites
The dedicated host is not in the Expired state. For more information, see Lifecycle of dedicated hosts.
Background information
The day that a dedicated host enabling auto-renewal expires, fees are deducted from your credit card or PayPal account. If fees fail to be deducted, the system attempts to deduct the fees 6 days and 14 days later until the renewal is successful. However, if the renewal fails all three times, the dedicated host is stopped.
The billing cycle of a subscription dedicated host depends on the subscription duration that you selected when you purchased the dedicated host.
If a dedicated host is purchased on a yearly basis, its billing cycle is one year.
If a dedicated host is purchased on a monthly basis, its billing cycle is one month.
Procedure
You can enable auto-renewal when creating a dedicated host. For more information, see Create a dedicated host. You can also enable or disable auto-renewal later. To change the auto-renewal settings of a dedicated host, perform the following steps:
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images >
> Dedicated Hosts. In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs.
Find the dedicated host, and click Configure Renewal Settings in the Actions column.
In the Configure Renewal Settings dialog box, enable or disable auto-renewal based on your business requirements.
Enable auto-renewal
Turn on Auto-renewal.
Select an auto-renewal duration from the Renewal Duration drop-down list.
Optional. Turn on Renew with ECS Instance if you want to renew the dedicated host together with the subscription ECS instance running on the host. By default, the feature is disabled.
ImportantTo use this feature, make sure that auto-renewal has been configured for the ECS instance.
Disable auto-renewal
Turn off Auto-renewal.
Click OK.
