DataWorks provides governance plan templates that are applicable to various industries. You can directly use a governance plan template to detect and handle governance issues in the current account based on the governance items and check items configured in the template. This topic describes how to view the configurations of a governance plan template.
Background information
Features
DataWorks Data Governance Center provides governance plan templates to help you troubleshoot governance issues in the current account. Each governance plan template collects and categorizes common governance items and check items, and provides corresponding solutions. You can use a governance plan template to detect governance issues in the current account. Data Governance Center displays the detected issues in reports or rankings to provide a reference for data governance engineers. After the issues are handled, Data Governance Center shows the effectiveness of data governance by using health scores.
Implementation rules
A governance plan template takes effect on all workspaces of a tenant. After you enable Data Governance Center for a tenant and specify the default governance plan template, the template takes effect on all DataWorks workspaces of the tenant. After you enable a governance plan template, the system generates check items and governance items based on the template. By default, the built-in check items and governance items are enabled and take effect globally. Data Governance Center detects governance issues and displays data for the current tenant based on the check items and governance items configured in the template. You can also go to the details pages of the check items and governance items of the default governance plan template to view the details of check items and governance items in the template.
NoteThe built-in check items in a governance plan template are available only for ODPS SQL nodes.
If a governance plan template contains a check item that is unnecessary for a workspace, you can disable the check item for the workspace. After the check item is disabled, Data Governance Center does not inspect events triggered based on the check item in the specified workspace.
If a governance plan template contains a governance item that is unnecessary for a workspace, you can create an exclusion rule on the Configure Governance Item page to disable the governance item in the specified workspace. After the governance item is disabled, Data Governance Center does not detect governance issues based on the governance item in the specified workspace. Detected governance issues are also not displayed on the Governance issues page. For information about how to configure governance items, see Configure governance items.
Limits
DataWorks allows you to use only the default template provided by the system. You cannot modify the configurations of the template.
DataWorks does not allow you to create custom templates.

View the details of check items.
On the Check Item Details page, check items are categorized in the R&D, storage, computing, quality, and security dimensions. On the tab of each dimension, you can view information about each check item, such as the ID, name, and applicable module. By default, check items are enabled on the Inspector details page. After a check item is enabled, Data Governance Center inspects events triggered based on the check item. If an event fails the check, the subsequent data development process is blocked. You cannot modify the configurations of check items in a governance plan template. To enable or disable a check item, go to the Inspector Setting page. For more information about how to enable a check item, see Configure check items. The following figure shows the details of check items in the R&D dimension.
View the details of governance items.
On the Governance Item Details page, mandatory and optional governance items are categorized in the R&D, storage, computing, quality, and security dimensions. On the tab of each dimension, you can view information about each governance item, such as the name, description, associated handling guide, and health score weight. Data Governance Center provides solutions for different governance items. If issues are detected based on a governance item, you can find the governance item and click the ID of the item in the Associated Handling Guide column to view the provided handling guide. On the Governance Item page, you can enable or disable an optional governance item based on your business requirements, and configure exclusion rules to disable specified optional governance items in a workspace. For more information, see Configure governance items.
NoteA health assessment model is built in each governance plan template. The model defines the health score weights of different governance items. You cannot modify the health score weights.
Mandatory governance items are included in the criteria for calculating health scores. Therefore, mandatory governance items must be globally enabled. You cannot disable mandatory governance items or specify the items in exclusion rules. Optional governance items are excluded from the criteria for calculating health scores. You can enable optional governance items based on your business requirements.
