Database Autonomy Service:View the performance overhead of top SQL statements executed on an ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance

Database Autonomy Service (DAS) allows you to view the performance overhead of the real-time top SQL statements and historical top SQL statements that are executed on an ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance.

Usage note

The RDS instance that runs SQL Server 2008 R2 with standard SSDs or enhanced SSDs (ESSDs) is not supported.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DAS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instance Monitoring.
  3. On the page that appears, find the database instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID. The instance details page appears.
  4. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Performance Optimization > TOP SQL.

  5. On the TOP SQL page, view the performance overhead of the top SQL statements that are executed on the ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance.

    The Top SQL Statement Overview section displays the time at which the SQL statement statistics were last updated.

    Click Save as PDF File to save the information about the SQL statement statistics to your computer as a PDF file.

    • View the statistics of real-time top SQL statements.

      • The Real-time Top SQL Statements - Average Overhead and Real-time Top SQL Statements - Total Cost sections display the performance overhead of real-time top SQL statements in different dimensions.

      • The Real-time Top SQL Statements - List section displays the details about the real-time top SQL statements that are executed on the ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance.

        Note

        The statistics of real-time top SQL statements for the ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance are based on the data that is cached after the instance is started. When a new SQL statement or an existing SQL statement is executed, the data in the cache is simultaneously updated.

    • View the statistics of historical top SQL statements.

      You can use the SQL Explorer and Audit feature to view the statistics of historical top SQL statements that are executed on the ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance.
