Checks whether a static public IP address is assigned to each Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance and the metering method for the public bandwidth is pay-by-bandwidth. If a static public IP address is assigned to each ECS instance and the metering method for the public bandwidth is pay-by-bandwidth, the configuration is considered compliant.
Scenarios
You can select an appropriate metering method for the public bandwidth of each ECS instance. This helps you reduce costs.
Risk level
Default risk level: medium.
When you apply this rule, you can change the risk level based on your business requirements.
Compliance evaluation logic
- If a static public IP address is assigned to each ECS instance and the metering method for the public bandwidth is pay-by-bandwidth, the configuration is considered compliant.
- If no static public IP address is assigned to an ECS instance, the configuration is considered incompliant. If a static public IP address is assigned to an ECS instance but the metering method for the public bandwidth is pay-by-traffic, the configuration is also considered incompliant. For more information about how to remediate an incompliant configuration, see Incompliance remediation.
