If the pay-as-you-go Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance uses the economical mode when they are stopped, the evaluation result is Compliant.
Scenarios
You can enable the economical mode for an ECS instance to recycle some resources while retaining the instance. This can reduce costs but brings resource exhaustion risks.
Risk level
Default risk level: low.
When you apply this rule, you can change the risk level based on your business requirements.
Compliance evaluation logic
- If the pay-as-you-go ECS instance uses the economical mode when they are stopped, the evaluation result is Compliant.
- If the pay-as-you-go ECS instance does not use the economical mode when they are stopped, the evaluation result is Incompliant. For more information, see the "Incompliance remediation" section of this topic.
- This rule does not apply to subscription ECS instances, for which the economical mode is not supported, and instances in the running state. Therefore, the evaluation results are always Incompliant for such instances.
