Checks whether the automatic snapshot policy of each Elastic Compute Service (ECS) data disk is configured to retain automatic snapshots when you release the ECS data disk. If the automatic snapshot policy is configured to retain automatic snapshots, the configuration is considered compliant.
Scenarios
You can configure an automatic snapshot policy for each ECS data disk to retain automatic snapshots when you release the ECS data disk. This ensures that the data of the ECS data disk can be restored if you accidentally release the ECS data disk. If you no longer require an automatic snapshot, you can separately delete it.
Risk level
Default risk level: low.
When you apply this rule, you can change the risk level based on your business requirements.
Compliance evaluation logic
- If the automatic snapshot policy of each ECS data disk is configured to retain automatic snapshots when you release the ECS data disk, the configuration is considered compliant.
- If no automatic snapshot policy is configured for each ECS data disk to retain automatic snapshots when you release the ECS data disk, the configuration is considered incompliant. For more information about how to remediate an incompliant configuration, see Incompliance remediation.
