After you purchase a cloud box or scale out its resources, Alibaba Cloud delivers the cloud box to you. After delivery, you must perform an acceptance test of the cloud box and complete the acceptance in the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) console. After you complete the acceptance, the cloud box enters the billing term and becomes available for use.
Deliver a cloud box
After your order is received, Alibaba Cloud contacts you within three business days to confirm the deployment site and the resources of the cloud box. After the order is confirmed, Alibaba Cloud starts the delivery process. The process involves the following two steps:
Conduct an on-site engineering survey.
A CloudBox must be installed in an IDC that meets specific environmental, power, and other requirements. For more information, see Deployment requirements. The Alibaba Cloud engineer will confirm the final requirements during the on-site survey.
Before you make a purchase, review the deployment requirements and prepare your IDC accordingly.
After you make the purchase, Alibaba Cloud will contact you to schedule a time and location for the on-site survey of your IDC.
If your IDC meets the deployment requirements and the site survey is approved, the installation and deployment phase begins.
If the site survey is not approved, you must modify your IDC as specified in the survey report. The process cannot continue until the survey is approved.
NoteYou must assign network and power engineers to assist the Alibaba Cloud engineer during the survey. Alibaba Cloud will provide a written report of the survey results. If your data center environment requires modification, you must make the changes specified in the survey report.
Install and deploy a cloud box.
After the site survey is approved, the installation and deployment phase begins. The process includes the following steps:
Alibaba Cloud will contact you to schedule a time for the on-site installation.
The Alibaba Cloud delivery team will transport the CloudBox to your specified location.
An Alibaba Cloud engineer will complete the installation and deployment of the CloudBox at the scheduled time and location.
NoteAlibaba Cloud engineers perform all installation and deployment operations for the CloudBox. However, you must assign personnel from your organization to provide assistance. For example, your power engineers must ensure that the electrical installation meets safety and regulatory standards, and your network engineers must assist with connecting and testing the on-site network.
Complete the acceptance of the cloud box
After Alibaba Cloud delivers the cloud box, you must perform an acceptance test of the cloud box and complete the acceptance in the ECS console. Otherwise, you cannot use the cloud box.
If you do not complete the acceptance within 15 business days, the cloud box is deemed accepted.
Log on to the ECS console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > CloudBox. On the page that appears, click the Cloud Boxes tab.
Find the target cloud box and click its ID.
Click the Orders tab.
Find the order to accept and click Accept in the Actions column.
In the dialog box, click OK.
After you complete the acceptance, the cloud box enters the billing term and becomes available for use.
