How to obtain a free quota

  • Users who did not activate CDT before 15:00 on April 8, 2024: After you activate CDT, you can obtain the quota of 200 GB/month for free Internet data transfers.

  • Users who have activated CDT before 15:00 on April 8, 2024: The quota of free Internet data transfers is automatically upgraded from 20 GB/month to 200 GB/month.

How to use a free quota

Log on to the CDT console and click Activate Now to activate CDT as prompted. For more information, see Activate CDT.

Note
  • After CDT is activated and used to bill data transfers for Alibaba Cloud products, all existing and new pay-by-data-transfer instances are automatically billed in CDT in a centralized manner, and pay-by-bandwidth instances continue to be billed in the Alibaba Cloud products. You can choose Expenses > User Center to go to the Expenses and Costs console and click Bill Details to view the billing data in CDT.

  • Check whether you have a pay-by-data-transfer instance. If you only activate CDT but do not have a pay-by-data-transfer instance, you do not enjoy the data transfer benefits of CDT.

  • The query of bills for free Internet data transfers is supported. In the bills for Internet data transfers in CDT, if you find that an instance has data transfers with tier 0 or find data transfers with a unit price of 0, such data transfers enjoy the benefit of free Internet data transfers. Internet data transfers exceeding the free quota are billed according to the tiered unit prices in CDT.

For more information about how to query bills, see Query bills and usage.
