This topic describes how to enable Cloud Data Transfer (CDT) for cloud services. You can use CDT to provide statistics and bills for data transfers in a centralized manner.
Usage notes
After you enable CDT for cloud services, all existing and new pay-by-data-transfer instances are billed by CDT. Pay-by-bandwidth instances continue to be billed by the original Alibaba Cloud services.
You can query your CDT bills on the page in the Expenses and Costs console.
After you activate CDT, CDT allocates you a quota on free Internet data transfers of 200 GB per month. Among the 200 GB of free Internet data transfers, 20 GB can be used in global regions, including regions in the Chinese mainland, and the other 180 GB can be used only in regions outside the Chinese mainland.
Procedure
Log on to the CDT console and view the details in the Upgrade to CDT Billing for Cloud Services table.
Not upgraded: CDT is not enabled for the service. You can enable CDT for the service to switch to more cost effective billing methods.
Upgraded by default: CDT is enabled for the service by default. The data transfers generated by the pay-by-data-transfer instances are billed by CDT.
If CDT is not enabled for a service, you can manually enable CDT for the service. In the following example, CDT is enabled for Elastic Compute Service (ECS).
Click Upgrade in the Actions column. In the message that appears, click OK.
In the Monthly Internet Data Transfer section, view the total amount of data transfers and the rankings of services that generate the highest volume of Internet data transfers in the current month by region.
Changes in bills after CDT is enabled
After you enable CDT for cloud services, all existing and new pay-by-data-transfer instances are billed by CDT. Pay-by-bandwidth instances continue to be billed by the original Alibaba Cloud services.
Log on to the Expenses and Costs console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
