Cloud Architect Design Tools:Use a custom image to create an ECS instance

Last Updated:Aug 30, 2024

This topic describes how to create an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance from a custom image by using Cloud Architect Design Tools (CADT).

Prerequisites

A custom image is created in the corresponding region. For more information about how to create a custom image, see Create custom image.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the CADT console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, choose Create > Create Application. The following example demonstrates how to create an ECS instance in the Single Region, Single Zone network topology.3

  3. Double-click the resource icons to configure parameters for the region, virtual private cloud (VPC), and vSwitch in sequence. When you configure the ECS instance, take note of the following two parameters:

    • Image: Select Custom image.

    • Image version: CADT automatically synchronizes all custom images in the region. Select the image that you want to use.

      Note

Data synchronization takes time. If you cannot find the custom image that you want to use, wait 5 to 10 minutes, refresh the page, and then try again.
