Bastionhost:Use the storage management feature

Last Updated:Jul 08, 2024

The administrator can use the storage management feature to view the storage occupied by audit session data and specify the storage duration. This topic describes how to use the storage management feature.

Background information

After the storage is used up, Bastionhost deletes the audit session data that is stored at the earliest time. We recommend that you specify an appropriate storage duration for audit session data based on your business requirements.

View the storage usage

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which your bastion host resides.

  2. In the bastion host list, find the bastion host that you want to manage and click Manage.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click System Settings.

  4. On the System Settings page, click the Storage Management tab.

  5. In the Storage Status section, view the storage occupied by session videos and log backup files.

Configure automatic deletion of session data

When the storage is used up, you can enable automatic deletion of session data and specify the maximum storage duration for session data. This way, the system retains the data until the duration ends. When the duration ends, the data is automatically deleted.

  5. In the Automatic Deletion of Session Videos section, select Maximum Session Data Storage Duration, specify a value based on your business requirements, and then click Save.

    Note

Valid values: 1 to 9999. Default value: 180. Unit: days.

    • If the size of the remaining session data still exceeds the maximum storage, Bastionhost automatically deletes the session data that is stored at the earliest time.

    • If you do not enable automatic deletion, Bastionhost automatically overwrites the data that is stored at the earliest time when the storage is used up.

Manually delete session data

  5. In the Manual Deletion of Session Videos section, select a date and time, click OK, and then click Delete.

Bastionhost deletes the audit session data that is stored before the specified time.

Session Automatic Cleanup

If you enable automatic cleanup, the system retains the session records that are in the TEXT format until the maximum storage duration ends. When the duration ends, the session records are automatically deleted from the session list. After a session record is deleted, you cannot view the corresponding audit video in the bastion host.

  5. In the Session Automatic Cleanup section, select Maximum Session Data Storage Duration, specify a value based on your business requirements, and then click Save.

    Note

Valid values: 1 to 2000. Default value: 180. Unit: days.
