Service Mesh (ASM) gateways and sidecar proxies generate metrics related to their running status. Managed Service for Prometheus collects these metrics for monitoring and visualization. When ASM releases new metric collection rules or dashboard updates, upgrade the ASM component in Managed Service for Prometheus to apply them.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
An Alibaba Cloud account with Managed Service for Prometheus activated
The ack-arms-prometheus component installed in the data-plane cluster
Metric collection configured for the ASM instance
Upgrade the ASM component

Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Integration Management. The Integrated Environments tab lists all connected environments.
In the Cluster Type column, locate the target cluster by its cluster ID.
In the Environment Name/ID column, click the target environment to open its details page.
In the Addon Type section, select Alibaba Cloud ASM. On the Component tab, click Settings in the Actions column.
In the Alibaba Cloud ASM Component Settings panel, click OK to confirm the upgrade. Wait for the component to finish reinstalling.
What to expect during the upgrade
The upgrade updates the dashboards and alert rules provided by the ASM component. Depending on the release, one of the following scenarios applies:

FAQ
ASM components are not visible on the Integration Management page
If ASM components do not appear on the Integration Management page after metric collection is configured, verify the collection status:
Go to the Mesh Management page and click the name of your ASM instance.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Observability Management Center > Monitoring metrics.
Confirm that metrics are reporting normally.
Return to the Integration Management page in ARMS. The ASM components should now appear.
