This topic describes how to create and manage a Browser Monitoring alert rule in the Application Real-Time Monitoring Service (ARMS) console. If the alert rule is triggered, ARMS sends alert notifications to the specified alert contacts or DingTalk groups by using the specified notification methods. Then, you can take necessary measures at the earliest opportunity.
Prerequisites
Your application is connected to ARMS Browser Monitoring. For more information, see Browser monitoring overview.Procedure
- Log on to the ARMS console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- On the Browser Monitoring Alert Rules page, click Create Browser Monitoring Alert Rule in the upper-right corner.
- On the Create Browser Monitoring Alert Rule page, set the required parameters and click Save. Note
- If you click Save, the Create Alert Rule page remains open.
- If you click Completed, you are redirected to the Alert Rules page.
Parameter Description Alert Name Enter a name for the alert rule. Example: Alert for web page-based metric. Select Applications Select the applications for which you want to configure the alert rule. You can select multiple applications. Automatically apply this alert rule to newly created applications Specify whether you want to apply this alert rule to applications that are later added to Browser Monitoring. Metric Type Select the type of metrics. Valid values: - Custom_Query: You can select metrics from different dimensions.
- Page_API_Metric: web page and API.
- Custom_Statistics_Metric: custom keys.
- Page_Metric: web page.
- API_Metric: API.
Note The values of the Alert Condition parameter vary with the metric type that you select.Metric Configuration - Set Filter Conditions: the expression that is used to filter the data to which alert conditions are applied. Note
- To filter values that have an OR relationship, you can specify Belong To or Not Belong To in the expression. Separate multiple values with commas (,). Example:
API Belong To api1,api2,api3

- Select Aggregation Dimension: the dimensions based on which metrics are aggregated. If you set the Metric Type parameter to a value other than Custom_Query, the Select Aggregation Dimension parameter is automatically specified. If you set the Metric Type parameter to Custom_Query, you must select dimensions from the Select Aggregation Dimension drop-down list.
- Select Metric: This parameter is displayed if you set the Metric Type parameter to Custom_Query. The metrics that you select for this parameter are used to configure alert conditions.
Alert Triggering Rules - Meet all the following rules: The alert is generated only when all the conditions are met.
- Meet one of the following rules: The alert is generated when one of the conditions is met.
Alert Condition Click + Add Condition to configure an alert condition. Example: Recently 10 Minutes JS_Error_Rate AVG Greater Than or Equal To 20%. After you configure an alert condition, click the icon to save the condition. Note- The metrics that can be used in alert conditions vary based on the specified dimensions.
- To modify an alert condition, click the icon next to the alert condition.
- To view the trend chart of the metric in an alert condition, click the icon next to the alert condition.
- To delete an alert condition, click the icon next to the alert condition.
- To configure multiple alert conditions, click + Add Condition.
Notification Policy - If you select Do Not Specify Notification Rules, an alert notification is sent only when an event rule configured in the notification policy is triggered.
- You can select an existing notification policy from the drop-down list or create a notification policy. When an alert is triggered, ARMS sends alert notifications by using the notification methods that are configured in the notification policy. Advanced Alert Settings No data This parameter is used to fix data anomalies, such as no data, abnormal composite metrics, and abnormal period-over-period comparison results. If the metric data does not meet the specified conditions, the metric data is automatically changed to 0 or 1, or the alert is not triggered. For more information, see Terms.
Manage an alert rule
After an alert rule is created, the alert rule is displayed on the Browser Monitoring Alert Rules page. You can enable, disable, modify, or delete the alert rule. You can also view the details of the alert rule.
- Log on to the ARMS console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- Optional:On the Browser Monitoring Alert Rules page, enter the alert name in the search box and click the Search icon. Note You can enter part of an alert name in the search box to perform a fuzzy search.
- Find the alert rule that you want to manage and perform the following operations in the Actions column based on your business requirements:
- To modify an alert rule, click Edit. On the Edit Alert page, modify the alert rule and click Save.
- To delete an alert rule, click Delete. In the Confirm message, click OK.
- To enable an alert rule, click Start. In the Confirm message, click OK.
- To disable an alert rule, click Stop. In the Confirm message, click OK.
- To view historical alert events, click Alert History. On the Alert Event History tab, you can view corresponding records. Note On the Alert Event History tab, you can view the alert events that are generated after the alert rule is triggered. If an alert event does not meet the event rules of existing notification policies, no alert notification is sent. In the left-side navigation pane, choose . On the Alerts page, you can view the records of alert notifications that are sent after alert events meet the event rules of existing notification policies.
