After a subscription ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instance expires, services and resources cannot be used as expected. If you want to continue using an ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instance, you must renew the instance within the valid renewal period. Otherwise, the instance and resources in the instance are automatically released and cannot be restored. This topic describes the renewal rules and methods of ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instances.
Background information
ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ supports auto-renewal and manual renewal. To prevent issues caused by instance expiration, we recommend that you enable auto-renewal for your instance.
Renewal rules
Object
The renewal feature is applicable only to subscription ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instances. For pay-as-you-go instances, you need to only ensure that your Alibaba Cloud account has sufficient balance.
Time
Automatic renewal: Auto-renewal is triggered nine days before an instance expires. If the first auto-renewal attempt fails, auto-renewal is triggered once a day until it succeeds or until one day before the instance expires.
Manual renewal: You can manually renew an ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instance before the instance expires and within seven days after the instance expires. If you do not renew an instance within the valid period, the instance and resources in the instance are automatically released.
Time to take effect
If you renew an ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instance, the change takes effect in the next subscription cycle.
Cycle
You can renew an ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ instance for one year or a period ranging from one month to six months.
Auto-renewal
Enable auto-renewal on the instance buy page
When you create an instance, click the Auto-renewal check box on the buy page.
Enable auto-renewal on the Instance Details page
Log on to the ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ console.
On the Instances page, click the name of the instance that you want to manage. The Instance Details page appears.
In the Basic Information section of the Instance Details page, click Configure Auto-renewal next to Billing Method.
Enable auto-renewal on the Renewal page
Log on to the ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ console.
On the Instances page, obtain the ID of the instance for which you want to enable auto-renewal.
In the top navigation bar, choose .
On the page that appears, enter the instance ID that you obtained in Step 2 in the Instance ID field. Then, click Search.
In the Actions column corresponding to the instance, click Enable Auto Renewal.
Manual renewal
Log on to the ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ console.
On the Instances page, click the instance that you want to manage. The Instance Details page appears.
In the upper-right corner of the Instance Details page, Click Renew.
