ApsaraMQ for Kafka allows you to change the billing method of an instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription. This feature is suitable for scenarios in which long-term and stable use of ApsaraMQ for Kafka instances is required. After you change the billing method, you can predict the costs of your instance. This helps save costs and avoid unexpected expenses. The change of the billing method only affects how you are charged for using the instance, but does not affect the instance status. You do not need to modify the code on the client.
Prerequisites
An ApsaraMQ for Kafka instance is purchased and deployed. Make sure that the instance is in the Running or Not Deployed state. For more information, see Step 2: Purchase and deploy an instance.
Usage notes
When you change the billing method of an ApsaraMQ for Kafka instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription, the instance is restarted. However, the instance status remains unchanged and the service is available.
The change of the billing method of an ApsaraMQ for Kafka instance does not change the ID or endpoint of the instance.
