This topic describes how to restore data backups from the instance recycle bin.
Background information
After a backup retention strategy is enabled, dropped clusters will be moved to the instance recycle bin. You can restore backups in the instance recycle bin. For basic features of the instance recycle bin, see Instance recycle bin.
Procedure
Log on to the ApsaraDB for OceanBase console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
On the Instances page, click Instance Recycle Bin in the upper-right corner to view the instances in the instance recycle bin.
Click Initiate Restore in the Actions column of the target instance.

Recovery Method
You can choose to restore by backup set or point in time.
If you choose to restore by backup set, select a backup set for the source.
If you choose to restore by point in time, select a restore point in time for the source.
Backup Set
The backup set to be used for restore.
Restore Point in Time
Select the point in time to which data is to be restored.
Restore target information
The destination instance to which data is to be restored. The destination instance must be an empty cluster.
NoteIn the Destination Instance drop-down list, instances that cannot be selected are grayed out. When you move the pointer over an unavailable instance, a pop-up window appears to provide the reason why you cannot select the instance. For example, the status of the instance is abnormal or the version of the destination instance does not match that of the source instance.
Click OK in the lower-right corner.
After the restore, you can click View Restore History in the Actions column to view information about the restore.
