Tableau is an easy-to-use tool used to analyze reports. It provides powerful functions and allows you to connect to AnalyticDB for MySQL. After you create an AnalyticDB for MySQL connection in Tableau, you can create smart views and dashboards through drag-and-drop operations or clicks.

Prerequisites

Use Tableau to connect to AnalyticDB for MySQL

  1. Start Tableau and click MySQL in the left-side navigation pane to create a MySQL connection. In the MySQL dialog box that appears, configure the connection parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Server

    The endpoint that is used to connect to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster.

    Port

    The port that is used to connect to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster.

    Username

    The account that is used to connect to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster. You can use one of the following account types:

    • Privileged account

    • Standard account

    Password

    The password of the account that is used to connect to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster.

  2. After you configure the preceding parameters, click Sign In to connect to the AnalyticDB for MySQL cluster.

Use Tableau

In Tableau, you can view the databases on which you have permissions. After you select a database, you can read tables, preview data, and generate visual reports.
