EIPs

An elastic IP address (EIP) is a public IP address that you can purchase and use as an independent resource.

Line types

EIP supports the line types of BGP (Multi-ISP) and BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro. The following table describes the differences between BGP (Multi-ISP) and BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro.

Benefits

BGP (Multi-ISP) provides high-quality and high-bandwidth BGP lines.

Provides high-quality BGP lines across the globe.
BGP lines from different ISPs are used at the same time and the optimal BGP line is automatically selected to ensure network stability.
Supported ISPs are China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile, China Netcom, CERNET, NRTA, Dr. Peng Group, and Founder Broadband.
You can use BGP (Multi-ISP) with Internet Shared Bandwidth to obtain bandwidth of 100 Gbit/s and higher.

BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro lines optimize data transmission to mainland China and improve connection quality for international services. Unlike BGP (Multi-ISP), when BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro lines provide services to users in the Chinese mainland (excluding data centers), cross-border connections are established by using Chinese mainland ISP services. This reduces network latency.

Note

The supported regions vary with the billing method:

If the pay-as-you-go billing method is used, the following regions support BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro: China (Hong Kong), Japan (Tokyo), Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Philippines (Manila), Indonesia (Jakarta), and Thailand (Bangkok).
If the subscription billing method is used, only the China (Hong Kong) region supports BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro.

Security protection types

By default, EIPs protected by Anti-DDoS Origin can mitigate DDoS attacks at up to 5 Gbit/s. If you have higher requirements, you can select Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium.

Default

Anti-DDoS Origin can mitigate DDoS attacks at up to 5 Gbit/s. This meets basic security requirements.

Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium

Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium can mitigate DDoS attacks at the Tbit/s level. Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium is ideal for users that require advanced security protection and low network latency. When you use Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium, take note of the following limits:

Only pay-as-you-go EIPs of the BGP (Multi-ISP) type support Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium.
If you specify an IP address pool to create EIPs protected by Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium, the IP address pool must be of the Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium type.
You can select Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium only when you create EIPs and IP address pools. You cannot switch the security protection type between Default and Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium for existing EIPs.

Important

When you use Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium, take note of the following information:

If you use EIPs protected by Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium for the first time, click Anti-DDoS Origin 2.0 (Pay-as-you-go) to activate pay-as-you-go Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium.
If you use Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium to protect your EIP, you are charged a protection fee by Anti-DDoS. For more information, see Anti-DDoS Origin 2.0 (Pay-as-you-go).
