You can use multiple methods to delete Object Storage Service (OSS) or HDFS objects that you do not need from a bucket.
Deleted objects cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution.
To maintain OSS-HDFS stability and prevent data loss, do not delete objects from the
.dlsdata/
directory.
Deletion rules
OSS allows you to manually or automatically delete one or more objects based on the following rules:
Manual deletion
You can delete a single object or multiple objects by using the OSS console, OSS API, OSS SDKs, ossbrowser, or ossutil. You can delete up to 1,000 objects by sending a single request and send multiple requests to delete more objects or directories.
Automatic deletion
If you need to delete objects that are last modified before a specific date, objects whose names contain a specific prefix, or objects that are stored in a specific bucket, we recommend that you configure a lifecycle rule for automatic deletion. After you finish the configuration, OSS automatically deletes the specified objects based on the rule. This simplifies the deletion procedure and improves efficiency. For more information, see Lifecycle.
Procedure
Use the OSS console
Log on to the OSS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Buckets. On the Buckets page, find and click the desired bucket.
In the left-side navigation tree, choose Object Management > Objects.
Delete OSS or HDFS objects.
Delete OSS objects
On the OSS Object tab, select one or more objects and click Permanently Delete under the object list.
In the message that appears, click OK.
Delete HDFS objects
On the HDFS tab, find the object that you want to delete and click Permanently Delete in the Actions column.
NoteYou cannot delete multiple objects on the HDFS tab at a time. You can manually delete all objects on the HDFS tab one by one.
In the message that appears, click OK.
Use ossbrowser
You can use ossbrowser to perform the same object-level operations that you can perform in the OSS console. You can follow the on-screen instructions in ossbrowser to delete objects. For more information, see Use ossbrowser.
Use OSS SDKs
The following sample code provides examples on how to delete a single object by using OSS SDKs for common programming languages. For information about how to delete one or more objects by using OSS SDKs for other programming languages, see Overview.

HMTL
In most cases, OSS SDK for Browser.js is used in browsers. To prevent your AccessKey pair from being exposed, we recommend that you use temporary access credentials obtained from Security Token Service (STS) to access OSS. Temporary access credentials consist of an AccessKey pair and a security token. An AccessKey pair consists of an AccessKey ID and an AccessKey secret. For more information about how to obtain temporary access credentials, see Use STS for temporary access authorization.

Use ossutil
For information about how to delete objects by using ossutil, see rm.
Use the OSS API
If your business requires a high level of customization, you can directly call RESTful APIs. To directly call an API, you must include the signature calculation in your code.
For information about the API operation that you can call to delete a single object, see DeleteObject.
For information about the API operation that you can call to delete multiple objects, see DeleteMultipleObjects.
