November 3, 2023, Hangzhou, China - Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, announced the general availability of Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Salesforce Platform on Alibaba Cloud starting December 18, 2023.
The introduction of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Salesforce Platform aims to help businesses, particularly multinational companies, operating in mainland China, meet evolving market demands, help comply with the latest data residency regulations, and integrate with the unique local app ecosystem.
Exclusive features for mainland China will be available on Sales Cloud and Service Cloud hosted on Alibaba Cloud. These features will include integrations with key Chinese social media and messaging platforms, helping companies to serve customers on their preferred channels.
"Reaching this milestone is a testament to the remarkable engineering effort and the close collaboration between Alibaba Cloud and Salesforce," said Phil Richardson, Chief Operating Officer, Global Technology Partners, Salesforce. "Our partnership with Alibaba Cloud will provide an integrated and innovative platform for our customers operating in the Salesforce ecosystem in mainland China.”
"Alibaba Cloud's robust and secure infrastructure, combined with Salesforce's trusted, localized products for the Chinese market, will enable enterprises operating in mainland China to better meet the unique local demands while maintaining global Salesforce standards. We look forward to introducing more leading products through our partnership with Salesforce to support our customers' business growth," said Edward Cai, Chief Commercial Officer, Alibaba Cloud.
A select group of early adopters, including multinational companies in the education, luxury, life sciences, and professional services industries, have already started deploying Salesforce on Alibaba Cloud. Among these is EF (Education First), a leader in international education. In addition to Salesforce on Alibaba Cloud, EF will be leveraging Alibaba Cloud’s robust infrastructure and data analytics tools to enhance its business operation efficiency and improve customer experience.
“We are thrilled to be among the pioneers implementing Salesforce on Alibaba Cloud for our operations in China,” said John Prokos, Group CIO, EF Education First. “We are happy to work with Alibaba Cloud, our trusted cloud service partner, in our digital transformation journey in Asia, a partnership that is expected to help us accelerate our business. With the introduction of Salesforce on Alibaba Cloud and their CRM services, we are confident that it will empower us to more effectively adhere to local regulations and seize a greater share of growth opportunities in this rapidly evolving digital landscape.”
Alibaba Cloud and Salesforce initiated their strategic partnership in 2019. Since then, they have launched Salesforce Social Commerce, a product specifically designed and built in China to assist multinational brands in expanding their businesses in the region. This latest milestone further underscores their shared commitment to driving customer success.
