Alibaba Cloud implemented a customized solution involving various computing, networking, and database services to help Sprint Asia host its payment gateway business on the cloud. To make the platform more scalable, reliable, efficient, and secure, the proposed solution leveraged Alibaba Cloud Elastic Compute Service (ECS), Server Load Balancer (SLB), and ApsaraDB services. With ECS in place, Sprint Asia was able to scale up and scale down automatically to optimize the performance of its payment gateway services. SLB improved the availability of Sprint Asia’s payment gateway during sudden traffic spikes and empowered the platform to prevent single point of failures (SPOFs) to deliver a seamless experience in real-time. Further, with ApsaraDB supporting the platform, Alibaba Cloud’s team of technical experts now takes care of routine maintenance, data backup, and recovery thereby freeing up Sprint Asia’s team to focus on innovation and develop additional functionality for their customers. Also, Alibaba Cloud’s Security Center ensures adherence to security and compliance regulations without any hassles.
