In accordance with the updated Redis Trademark Policy, we will be updating all references to our cloud-managed Redis®* service, ApsaraDB for Redis®, on the Alibaba Cloud website and product console to rename it to Tair (Redis® OSS-Compatible) as a sub-series of Tair for continued follow-on support.

The change starts now and will end in mid-November. The most important thing to note about the forthcoming name change is that current users do not need to take any immediate action. As we will be changing all references gradually, please see below for details of the change:

What Will Be The Same

• Please note that there will not be any changes in the services, functionality or capabilities of services. For existing cloud-managed Redis® users, the service itself, including any associated API endpoints, CLI commands, capabilities and functionality for creating or using the service, will remain unchanged and it will continue to be compatible with legacy Redis® OSS. You will be able to access the product landing page, console, documentation and API normally.

What's Changing

• The product name on the website, including but not limited to the menu, control panel, billing details, documentations, and user notifications will be changed from ApsaraDB for Redis® to Tair (Redis® OSS-Compatible).
• The product type in the documentation and the instance type in the console will change accordingly. The previous Community Edition will be changed to Open-Source Edition, and the Tair (Redis® Enhanced Edition) will be changed to Tair (Enterprise Edition).
