PT. Catur Sukses Internasional (hereafter referred to as PT. CSI) is a large home appliances distributor in Indonesia established since 1986. PT. CSI has more than 100 product categories with SKUs of more than 3,000 product types. In today's digital era, PT. CSI has also explored the adoption of e-commerce and successfully built a marketplace for electronic goods.

PT. CSI was one of the first few companies to deploy Microsoft Dynamics in Indonesia using an on-premises hybrid cloud platform. In this type of on-premises setup, PT. CSI has full control of every aspect of the implementation, but this can limit the flexibility and ability to change or adapt to different business conditions. In terms of IT costs, this method generally involves larger, infrequent "CAPEX-heavy" investments. Most importantly, regular hardware maintenance such as patch updates often results in service downtime, which is not acceptable from a business continuity perspective in a digital world. PT. CSI was looking to deploy Microsoft Dynamics on the cloud. This would allow PT. CSI to largely decouple its software from the local hardware (hybrid cloud platform), which will remove the hassle of hardware maintenance from its end. However, this approach requires expertise in cloud computing, while PT. CSI had limited personnel equipped with the necessary cloud computing skill sets. Hence, adopting a managed service was the most effective and efficient solution for PT. CSI to handle migration and cloud infra operation.

Alibaba Cloud has a strong local presence with 2 Data Centers in Jakarta in operation, which meets PT. CSI's requirements on data security regulation and network latency after moving to the cloud. PT. CSI also benefited from Alibaba Cloud's partnership with ViBiCloud. As one of the partners of Alibaba Cloud in Indonesia, ViBiCloud specializes in providing managed services with a strong and established track record.

The teams at Alibaba Cloud, ViBiCloud, and PT. CSI worked closely to build a full migration and operation plan. As a result, the migration was completed within 3 days without the disrupting the business operation of PT. CSI. ViBiCloud took care of most of the aspects of Alibaba Cloud and Dynamics setup, including rightsizing and machine optimization, backups, load balancing, resource allocation, and updates/upgrades. As a result, the managed services helped PT. CSI reduce internal IT resources that are dedicated to maintenance, and allocate more time and resources to key business tasks.

PT. CSI is conducting an evaluation to move their e-commerce service (jualelektronik.com) from a third-party cloud provider to Alibaba Cloud, which is led by ViBiCloud.
