Alibaba Cloud sets default quotas on the cloud resources and API operations for each Alibaba Cloud account. You can view your adjustable quotas and apply for a quota adjustment based on your business requirements. This topic describes the quotas of Express Connect and their default values, as well as whether the quotas are adjustable.
Quotas are set on a per-region or per-account basis and are categorized into the following types:
General quotas: the limits on cloud resources that are available to an Alibaba Cloud account.
API rate limits: the limits on API calls that an Alibaba Cloud account can make in a specific period of time. API rate limits are also known as queries per second (QPS) limits.
Privileges: the permissions that are granted to an Alibaba Cloud account to use advanced features.
Express Connect is subject to all three types of quotas: general quotas, API rate limits, and privileges. You can apply for increases in some of the quotas. You can view quotas or apply for a quota increase by logging on to the Quota Center console or the Express Connect console. For more information about how to manage quotas, see Manage Express Connect quotas.
General quotas
The following table lists the general quotas of Express Connect.
Quotas whose default values are 0 or displayed with hyphens (-) are unavailable by default. The default values of quotas in the following table are for reference only. The actual default values of quotas in the console prevail.
Type | Name | Description | Default value | Adjustable |
Express Connect circuit | ec_quota_pconn_count_per_ap | The maximum number of Express Connect circuits that can be connected to an access point by using an Alibaba Cloud account | 2
ec_quota_free_pconn_count | The maximum number of unpaid Express Connect circuits that can be created | 10 | No
ec_quota_same_acount_vbr_per_pconn | The number of virtual border routers (VBRs) that can be created for an Express Connect circuit within the same account | 5 | To increase the quota, submit a ticket.
VBR | ec_quota_bgp_group_max_route_entry_num | The maximum number of route entries that each Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peer in a BGP group can receive Note When the number of BGP route entries reaches the upper limit, no more BGP route entries are propagated. BGP route entries are counted only if they meet the following two conditions:
| 110 | |
ec_quota_vbr_per_bgp_peer | The maximum number of BGP peers that are supported by a VBR | 8
ec_quota_bgp_allow_prefixes_num | The maximum number of route prefixes that are supported by a VBR | 20
ec_quota_vbr_bgp_num | The maximum number of BGP CIDR blocks that can be advertised on a VBR | 10
ec_quota_vbr_route_entry | The maximum number of route entries that can be retained by a VBR | 48
can_associate_pconn_to_vbr | The privilege of binding multiple Express Connect circuits to a single VBR for equal-cost multi-path (ECMP) link aggregation | -
Peering connection | ec_quota_vbr_ri_num | The maximum number of peering connections that can be established for a VBR | 10
ec_quota_vroute_ri_num | The maximum number of peering connections that can be established in a virtual private cloud (VPC) | 10
ec_quota_user_ri_num | The maximum number of peering connections, including VPC and VBR connections, that can be established by using an Alibaba Cloud account | 10
Quality of service (QoS) policy | ec_max_qos_num | The maximum number of QoS policies that a user can create | 10
ec_max_qos_queue_num | The maximum number of queues that can be created in a QoS policy | 3
ec_max_qos_queue_rule_num | The maximum number of traffic classification rules that can be created for a queue | 5
ec_pconn_can_enable_qos | Allow ports that have shared resources to use the QoS feature | 0
Express Connect Router (ECR) | ecr_vbr_count_per_ecr | The maximum number of VBRs that can be bound to an ECR | 50 | To increase the quota, submit a ticket. |
ecr_tr_count_per_ecr | The maximum number of transit routers that can be bound to an ECR | 3
ecr_vpc_count_per_ecr | The maximum number of VPCs that can be bound to an ECR | 30
ecr_allowed_prefix_count_per_association | The maximum number of CIDR blocks that can be dynamically propagated by a VPC or transit router after the VPC or transit router is bound to an ECR | 20 | To increase the quota, submit a ticket.
ecr_bandwidth_cross_region_overseas | The cross-region bandwidth for an ECR that resides in a region outside China | Cloud Data Transfer (CDT) sets the following protective bandwidth limits on cross-region or cross-border connections based on the regions between which the connections are created:
Note If you want to create multiple connections, the data transfer fees are multiplied by N based on the single-connection data transfer fees. N indicates the number of connections, which is generally four.
ecr_bandwidth_cross_region_domestic | The cross-region bandwidth for an ECR that resides in a region in the Chinese mainland | To increase the quota, submit a ticket.
ecr_bandwidth_cross_border | The cross-border bandwidth for an ECR
ecr_count_per_user | The maximum number of ECRs that can be created for an account | 20
ec_ecr_can_use_connectlink | Allow users to connect data centers by using an ECR | 0
Failure drill | ec_max_testjob_resource_num | The maximum number of resources that can be added to a failure drill task | 16 | No |
API rate limits
The following table lists the API rate limits of Express Connect.
Name | Value | Adjustable |
API rate limit | On the API Rate Limits page of the Quota Center console, view the rate limits of Express Connect API operations. | No |
Privileges
The default value of a privilege is 0, indicating that the corresponding advanced feature is unavailable. You need to apply for the privilege before you can use the feature. The following table lists the privileges of Express Connect.
Name | Description | Adjustable |
Allow VBR to load CEN or VPC across accounts | Allow users to connect a VBR to a Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN) instance or VPC that belongs to a different account
Shared ports below 1G can be purchased | Allow users to purchase shared ports with a speed of less than 1 Gbit/s Note Only Alibaba Cloud partners can apply for the privilege.
Apply for ECR | Allow users to use ECRs |
