The container backup feature is available in Cloud Backup and Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK). The ACK application backup feature uses Cloud Backup to back up persistent volumes (PVs) of File Storage NAS (NAS) and Object Storage Service (OSS). You are charged based on the storage capacity of the container backup vault. The fees are included into your Cloud Backup bill. You can only view backup jobs and the files that are backed up but cannot perform backup and restore operations in the Cloud Backup console. This topic describes how to view container backup details in the Cloud Backup console.
Prerequisites
The application backup feature is enabled in the ACK console. For more information, see Install migrate-controller and grant permissions and Backup center overview.
Background information
A growing number of applications are running on containers. The storage resources of these applications need to be backed up periodically. The ACK application backup feature uses Cloud Backup to back up NAS and OSS PVs.
After you enable the application backup feature in the ACK console, Cloud Backup runs as the daemon hbr-client. On the process details page, you can view the basic information of the hbr-client process, such as monitoring information and logs.
Billing
You are charged for the usage of backup vaults based on the storage capacity of the container backup vault. The fees are included into your Cloud Backup bill. For more information, see Pricing of Cloud Backup.
View cluster backups
Cloud Backup displays only the basic information of cluster backups. On the Container Backup page, you cannot perform backup and restore operations. You can perform backup and restore operations on the Application Backup page in the ACK console. For more information, see Install migrate-controller and grant permissions.
Log on to the Cloud Backup console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the top navigation bar, select a region.
View the basic information of cluster backups.
Clusters: The list of clusters that have been backed up and protected. Click ACK Cluster ID to view the protected persistent volume claims (PVCs). For more information about PVCs, see Persistent volume claim (PVC).
If Client Status is abnormal, Cloud Backup is not running as expected in the ACK cluster. Go to the DaemonSets page in the ACK console to troubleshoot the issue.

View the files that are backed up
To view the files that are backed up, click View Protected Storage Claims in the Actions column of the ACK cluster.
On the Volume Claim Details page, click the plus sign (+) in front of the PVC.
Select an appropriate historical backup point.
Click the link next to the historical backup point.
In the Browse panel, the system displays all the backed-up resources.
View container backup vaults
In the left-side navigation pane, click Storage Vaults. Cloud Backup creates a backup vault for ACK application backup in a region to store backup data. The name of the backup vault is ack-backup-data. You are charged based on Storage Vault Data Size.
