File Storage NAS (NAS) offers various resource plans to help you save on storage costs. After familiarizing yourself with the types, capacity, and offset factors of these plans, you can make an informed purchase by estimating future usage or analyzing historical data.
Prerequisites
You are familiar with the types, capacity, and offset factors of resource plans. For more information, see Resource plans.
If you are purchasing a resource plan as a RAM user, the user must be granted the
AliyunNASFullAccesspermission. For more information, see Perform access control based on RAM policies.
Purchasing guide
When purchasing a resource plan, consider your required service types, estimated usage volume, and the intended region of use.
Example
Scenario
The following table shows an example of estimated monthly resource usage for NAS file systems.
Region | Storage class | Resource usage |
China (Hangzhou) | Performance NAS file system |
|
China (Shanghai) | Standard Extreme NAS file system | Provisioned capacity: 200 GiB |
Advanced Extreme NAS file system | Provisioned capacity: 300 GiB |
Resource plan recommendation
The following table provides resource plan recommendations based on the scenario above. You can also use the calculator to quickly determine the required base capacity for each plan.
Storage class | Billable item | Resource usage | Recommended resource plan specifications |
Performance NAS file system | Storage usage of General-purpose NAS file systems (Capacity, Performance, and Premium) | 60 GiB | Total storage usage: 60 GiB × 5.47 + 380 GiB × 0.37 = 468.8 GiB
|
Storage usage of the IA storage class | 380 GiB
Read traffic of the IA storage class | 1 GiB | Resource plans only offset storage usage fees. Data transfer fees (read/write traffic) are not covered and are billed separately. For more information, see Resource plans.
Write traffic of the IA storage class | 2 GiB
Standard Extreme NAS file system | Provisioned capacity of Extreme NAS file system | 200 GiB | Total storage usage: 200 GiB + 300 GiB = 500 GiB
|
Advanced Extreme NAS file system | Provisioned capacity of Extreme NAS file system | 300 GiB |
