A security group is a virtual firewall that is used to manage the inbound and outbound traffic of specific Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances. After a security group is added to the whitelist of a Lindorm instance, the ECS instances in the security group can access the Lindorm instance. This topic describes how to add a security group for a Lindorm instance.
Prerequisites
Before you add a security group for a Lindorm instance, make sure that the following requirements are met:
The security group is created. For more information, see Create a security group.
The network type of the ECS instance must be the same as that of the Lindorm instance. If the network type of the ECS instance and the Lindorm instance is virtual private cloud (VPC), the two instances must be deployed in the same VPC.
Usage notes
You can configure whitelists and security groups for a Lindorm instance at the same time. This way, the Lindorm instance can be accessed from the IP addresses in the whitelists and the ECS instances in the security groups.
You can add up to three security groups for a Lindorm instance.
Procedure
Log on to the Lindorm console.
In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the instance is deployed.
On the Instances page, click the ID of the instance that you want to manage or click Manage in the Actions column corresponding to the instance.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Access Control.
Click the Security Groups tab.
Click Add Security Group.
In the Add Security Group dialog box, select the security groups that you want to add for the Lindorm instance.
Click OK.
