ApsaraVideo VOD:Upload files using the Windows client

Last Updated:Jan 16, 2026

If you use the Windows operating system and need to batch upload large files, use the Windows client.

Limits

  • The maximum size of a single file that you can upload is 48.8 TB.

  • The Windows client stores upload records in the %appdata%/AliVodClient folder and displays a maximum of 500 recent records. If you upgrade the client or clear this folder, the upload records are deleted.

Procedure

Step 1: Create a RAM user and an AccessKey pair

  • The RAM user is successfully created.

For more information about how to create a RAM user, see Create a RAM user.

  • The RAM user has been granted permissions to access ApsaraVideo VOD.

For more information about how to grant permissions to a RAM user, see Grant permissions to a RAM user.

  • Create an AccessKey pair. An AccessKey pair is required for identity verification when you log on to the client. For more information, see Create an AccessKey pair.

  • Before you upload files using the client, enable the ApsaraVideo VOD bucket in the target region. Otherwise, the upload will fail. For more information, see Manage storage buckets.

Note

Log on to the client using the AccessKey ID and AccessKey secret of a RAM user. This isolates permissions and reduces the risk of configuration errors in the console.

Step 2: Use the client

  1. Download and install the client.

    Operating system

    Windows

    Application version

    Windows-V2.0.1

    Important

If an error message indicates that MSVCP140.dll or VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing when you start the Windows client, download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 runtime library.

  2. Log on to the client using the AccessKey ID and AccessKey secret of the RAM user.

  3. In the menu bar at the top of the client, click Add Upload File to add the audio and video files that you want to upload.

  4. Select the media files that you want to upload.

  5. Click Start Upload.
