ApsaraVideo VOD data transfer plan
An ApsaraVideo VOD data transfer plan is used to offset only the acceleration traffic. You can use a data transfer plan only when an accelerated domain name is configured and the metering method of the acceleration service is pay-by-data-transfer. You can purchase multiple data transfer plans and use them based on the order of purchase time. The system accumulates the downstream traffic that you use every hour. The used resources within the quota of a data transfer plan are offset from the data transfer plan. Excess usage is charged in pay-as-you-go mode. For more information, see Acceleration.
The following table describes the pricing of data transfer plans that are supported in acceleration regions outside the Chinese mainland. For more information about the prices of data transfer plans in other acceleration regions, go to the buy page.

ApsaraVideo VOD transcoding plan
A transcoding plan of ApsaraVideo VOD is used to offset transcoding fees. You can purchase one or more transcoding plans. The resource quotas of the transcoding plans can be combined within their validity periods. Resource consumption is preferentially offset from the transcoding plan that you first purchase. The system accumulates the transcoded output duration that you use every hour. The used resources within the quota of a transcoding plan and the specified resolution range are offset from the transcoding plan. Excess usage is charged in pay-as-you-go mode. For more information, see Media transcoding.
You are charged for each transcoding job. The total transcoding duration equals the total duration of transcoded videos. For example, a transcoding template group contains 2 regular transcoding templates: H.264 LD (640 x 480) and H.264 SD (1280 x 720). If you use the transcoding template group to create 2 transcoding jobs for a 1-hour video, the video is transcoded twice based on each transcoding template. In this case, the total output duration is 4 hours. The offset ratios of the output duration for H.264 LD videos and H.264 SD videos from transcoding plans are 1:1 and 1:1.5. The duration that is offset from your transcoding plan is calculated based on the following formula: 2 x 1 + 2 x 1.5 = 5 hours.
Regular transcoding plans
The following table describes the pricing of regular transcoding plans for H.264 LD videos. For information about the offset ratios of the output duration for videos in other resolutions or other encoding formats, see Transcoding plan offset ratio. Fees for specific transcoding jobs such as Narrowband HD 1.0 transcoding, container format conversion, and audio transcoding cannot be offset.
Specification | Unit price (USD) | Validity period |
5,000 minutes | 13 | 1 year |
20,000 minutes | 47 | 1 year |
100,000 minutes | 204 | 1 year |
500,000 minutes | 850 | 1 year |
Transcoding plan offset ratio
A regular transcoding plan can be used to offset the output duration for H.264 LD, SD, and HD videos. The following table describes the offset ratios.
Codec | Resolution | Offset ratio |
H.264 | ≤ LD (640 × 480) | 1:1 |
H.264 | ≤ SD (1280 × 720) | 1:1.5 |
H.264 | ≤ HD (1920 × 1080) | 1:3 |
Examples
For example, you purchase a regular transcoding plan of 5,000 minutes. The maximum output duration for H.264 LD videos that can be offset is 5,000 minutes. The maximum output duration for H.264 SD videos that can be offset is calculated based on the following formula: 5,000/1.5 = 3,333.33 minutes. The maximum output duration for H.264 HD videos that can be offset is calculated based on the following formula: 5,000/3 = 1,666.66 minutes.
